Chocolate Chip Cookies

*adapted from Nestle Toll House
  • 1 cup crisco shortening stick (butter flavored)
  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups Semi-Sweet Chocolate Morsels

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. In stand mixer, cream crisco stick, brown sugar and eggs for about 2 mins until the batter becomes light in color.
  3. Add baking soda, salt, granulated sugar and vanilla. Mix to incorporate.
  4. Add flour, 1 cup at a time, and mix in between each cup.
  5. Gently fold in chocolate chips.
  6. Using a cookie scoop, or two spoons, drop medium size cookie dough onto greased cookie sheets.
  7. Bake for 8-9 mins.  Remove cookies from the oven when you see the edges just slightly becoming brown.  They will continue to cook and brown up on the cookie sheet outside of the oven.
  8. Cool on a wire rack or a paper towel.
