Nutella Pie

*adapted from mybakingaddiction.com

Ingredients:

For the Crust

24 Oreo Cookies, crushed into crumbs (I use my food processor)
6 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted

For the Filling

1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
2/3 cup Nutella
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
1 (8 ounce) tub frozen whipped topping, thawed (I buy the large 16 oz Cool Whip and use half for the filling and half or less for the garnish.)

For the Garnish

about 6 ounce whipped topping
chocolate shavings, optional
toasted, chopped hazelnuts, optional
crushed Oreo crumbs, optional

Directions:

1. In a medium bowl, stir together the Oreo cookie crumbs and melted butter. Press the crumbs into a pie dish allowing the crumbs to go up the sides of the dish. Place crust in the refrigerator while you prepare the filling.
*For individual servings, evenly divide the crumbs between your individual serving dishes and press into the bottoms of the dishes to form a crust layer. (This is very simple to do with a clean “push-up pop” dispenser.)
2. In a large bowl, with an electric mixer, beat the cream cheese and Nutella until smooth. Add vanilla and mix to combine. Beat in the whipped topping until well blended and no streaks remain.
3. Transfer the filling into the pie tin, evenly covering the crust.
*For individual servings, evenly pipe or spoon the filling into individual serving dishes.
4. Garnish with additional whipped topping. If desired, sprinkle chocolate shavings or toasted and chopped hazelnuts or additional crushed Oreos on top of whipped topping.
